EUBEEF ASIA Study Trip in Spain, was held in order to enhance the bilateral relations between Europe and South Korea, regarding the beef trade. This trip, mainly addressed to key professionals within the meat sector in South Korea, started this January and lasted for a week. It included visits to local meat cutting plants, farms and slaughterhouses to have a deeper understanding of how premium European beef is produced.

The study trip in Europe was successful and impressive. We have visited several different beef suppliers to gain a greater background knowledge of European beef production chains. From livestock environment, production process, logistics control, to high-standard quality management. It firstly started off with positive communication. Conversation flowed freely upon different roles from different countries in this business field. Every participant actively made the best of this oppurtunity to exchange their thoughts and ideas face to face. On top of that is the best of “in-person experience” – the refreshing taste of European quality beef dishes, the grazing sound in the open-air cattle farm, and all the skillful staff in the spotlessly clean factories. What we have experienced is treasurable! After the study trip, we are optimistic and looking for European quality meat coming to South Korea soon.
